We’ll establish job centers in every district – Opare Addo

The Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment has announced plans to establish job centres in every district across the country as part of efforts to create employment opportunities for young people.

Speaking during a working visit to the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, reaffirmed his commitment to decentralizing job centres nationwide.

He emphasized that this initiative aims to facilitate job creation and improve access to employment resources for the youth.

In an interview with Citi News, Mr Opare Addo stated that the government believes that by decentralizing job placement services, more young people will receive career guidance, training, and direct links to employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors.

“The assurance I am going to give is that President Mahama is going to work hard to reposition the YEA as a place where young people can seek refuge anytime they are seeking job opportunities and training.

“We have a similar policy in our manifesto and so our assurance to them is that, we going to scale it up so that we have similar centres in all districts. The job centres should be closer to the person who seeks the job for young people to easily access it and the opportunities made available to them.”
