Weed Smokers On The Run After Beating Two Alleged Armed Robbers To Death At Buokrom

Weed Smokers On The Run After Beating Two Alleged Armed Robbers To Death At Buokrom
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Two unidentified men have been found on the streets of Kumasi Buokrom after they were suspected of armed robbery. The unidentified men are believed to have chased a businessman in the early hours of today at Buokrom S-Way street.

Breaking the news to the Buokrom F-Line Estate police, Mr Humfrey Darko, a pensioner and a bookshop retailer, narrated that, he came to meet the bodies lying in the middle of the road at 6 AM. They may have died before six, but when I came, numerous people were surrounding it.

I believe some of those people were responsible for beating them to death. The news wasn’t specific, but the people were saying they were chasing a businessman before they were caught and beaten to death.

The businessman in question, never spoke of his name but one man said it was him but he hasn’t been able to talk ever since we took him to the hospital, Mr Humfrey Darko, a bookshop retailer at Buokrom S-way street narrated to the police. The police have taken custody of the bodies as investigations are ongoing.

One man, believed to be the businessman who the alleged armed robbers were chasing, is at the Shallom Hospital after Mr Humfrey together with other residents took him to the hospital. The man was in tears and residents believe he was crying for escaping death and robbery.

Though it hasn’t been established, but the narratives on the grounds talked of the victim being pursued by the two alleged armed robbers. The victim (businessman) was saved when some men; weed smokers came to his aid and arrested the robbers in the middle of the Buokrom S-way street.

The weed smokers were alleged to have been high on weed and ended up beating the alleged robbers to death. All the weed smokers left the scenes of the accident and took to their heels after the man was confirmed dead, rumours stated.

The police is working on the clock to have the witness statement of the businessman who is fighting for his life at the hospital. The police are of the view, the statement from the victim will clarify the rumours surrounding the death of the two alleged armed robbers.

We haven’t established any facts as of now, but with the victim being in the hospital, we hope he will survive and help us with investigations. Nobody has spoken to us with the exception of Mr Humfrey Darko who took the victim to the hospital, we are hoping the victim will have a more clear statement to us and we will arrest anybody who took part in the beating, Corporal Kennedy Atendana of Buokrom F-Line Estate Police stated.
