Speaking on Plan B FM, morning show dubbed Nkosuo nsem, the director in charge of Tema Central and East Constituency stressed that members of the public who fail to follow instructions would be disenfranchised on Monday, December 7, 2020.

“All campaign activities stop a day before election, so wearing a party branded souvenir to the polling station is not allowed”, he said.

Mr. Ofosuhene also added that the Commission would strictly enforce all COVID-19 safety protocols, including the wearing of facemasks at all polling stations during the general election on Monday.

“The face masks that people would wear should not be party-branded. So, they should wear the face mask but not the party-branded ones”, he added.

He pointed out that, voters who will be above normal temperature at polling stations will be given some time to settle to enable the COVID-19 ambassador at the polling station obtain the right body temperature.

“When you report to the polling station with a high temperature above the normal temperature which is 37 degrees, you will be required to settle down for some time to enable you obtain the required temperature”, Mr Ofosuhene indicated.

He added that, anyone above the normal temperature should be allowed to vote, but officials at the centres should ensure the strict observation of the COVID-19 protocols.

“Someone could be above the normal 37-degree temperature, but since health professionals are not present at the polling centres, one can’t say it is COVID-19, so the best advice is to ensure the strict observation of the protocols.”
