The Girls Education Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES), for Tema West of the Greater Accra Region, Madam Yacoba Otoo has urged all parents and guidance to send their wards to school and take proper care of them most especially the girls.

Madam Yacoba expressed that, most parents and guidance fail to send their girls to school which denies the girl child from her educational right as the Constitution says.

Speaking on Plan B Fm’s ‘Nyansapo Fie’ hosted by Nana Asabea on Tuesday, 3 September 2024, Miss Yacoba said that, there are laws in Ghana which protect the girl child in her education and should any parent or guardian go contraly to that , trying to deny the girl child from school will be dealt with.

“A country who’s educational system does not favors doesn’t develop. Let us think of the future generations by sending them to school and also proper care must be taken. Kitchen is not meant for only girls” she asserted.

Miss Yacoba emphasized that, most parents think they have absolute control over their wards because they gave birth to them forgetting that, the law and the constitution has also stated clearly that each and everyone has the right to education. Don’t deny them from school” she added.
