The Management of Marwako Fast Food says the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has already fined them ¢750,000.
This is according to its Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Amin Lamptey.
“Inasmuch as we agree with the FDA with regard to what they have done so far, we have suffered some fines, a very huge amount of money.
In Authority of this Bohyeba Afriyie of Plan b fm had an eloquent interaction with Mr Joseph Yaw Bennie Director For Legal Affairs FDA and is what he had to say.
He stated that per the result from the various test and investigations they conducted the food served to customers by the eatery was prepared under poor sanitation conditions and also heavily laden with pathogens.
He also revealed that the temperature of deep freezers and refrigerators were far above the acceptable ranges and the handling practices of ingredients used in cooking, cooled and ready-to-eat food items were also very poor.
In conclusion he said that they have applied the appropriate regulatory sanctions which included a fine of Ghc 750,000 and we are also monitoring the implementation of the corrective and preventive actions by the management of Marwako Fast Foods to “address all the non-conformances identified to prevent any reoccurrence.
