The Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to H.E. John Dramani Mahama on his election as the President of the Republic of Ghana.

In a statement signed by the General Secretary of MMAAG, Mr. Evans Otumfuo, the Association commended the President-elect for his perseverance, determination, and the comprehensive policies outlined during his campaign, which they believe have earned him the trust of the Ghanaian people.

MMAAG expressed confidence in Mr. Mahama’s leadership, stating, “We are confident that under your able stewardship, Ghana will continue to make strides toward greater growth, equality, and inclusivity.”

The Association further lauded the President-elect’s commitment to national development and highlighted the significant role of digital financial services in promoting financial inclusion and economic growth.

They pledged their readiness to collaborate with his administration to further expand mobile money services in Ghana.

A key appeal from MMAAG was the call for the repeal of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy), which they described as a burden on both customers and businesses.

“We have confidence in you and cannot wait for your administration to cancel the E-Levy, which has caused disruptions and imposed an additional burden on our customers while affecting our businesses,” the statement emphasized.

MMAAG believes that removing the E-Levy will not only boost digital financial inclusion but also stimulate economic growth and support the sustainability of mobile money businesses.

The Association concluded by wishing President-elect John Dramani Mahama a successful tenure and reaffirmed its commitment to working with his administration to achieve mutual goals for Ghana’s prosperity.
