Spokesperson for the Kwahu traditional council, Nana Akuoku Boateng has justified the council’s decision to impose a ban on political activities on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after some regional executives of the party defied directives against the invocation of curses in the area.
In his interaction with Plan B FM’s , Ohene Addo on Friday 10th July, the spokesman said that the traditional council felt disrespected by some leaders of the political party in the Eastern region after the prohibition on the invocation of curses because of certain mysterious deaths that had occurred in the past.
He further stated that, there was no proper show of remorse from the accused party leaders after reports reached traditional authorities, saying, “if you disrespect your chief, why should you go on air to showcase your insolence”
NDC regional heavyweights such as regional communications officer Dallas Williams, youth organizer, Sidi Bello and others were named as main figures behind the swearing at river Trado over allegations that certain non-residents of Kwahu were being imported into the area to register in the ongoing voter registration exercise by their political opponents.
