Walewale: Gunmen open fire on bus, two critically injured

Two people have been reportedly shot after gunmen opened fire on a bus travelling from Bolgatanga to Kumasi.

The incident occurred near Walewale township on Tuesday, December 16. The bus, operated by Great Imperial Express and bearing registration number GY 3199-21, is believed to have been targeted in connection with tensions in the area.

The attack left the bus driver and another passenger in critical condition. Both victims were rushed to Walewale Hospital for emergency treatment.

The police have confirmed the attack and are investigating the motive while working to identify the perpetrators. Further updates on the victims’ condition and the progress of the investigation are expected in the coming days.
