Ghana Women’s Premier League champions, Hasaacas Ladies, began their journey in the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers with a hard-fought draw against Omnisports Etincelle.
In their opening match of the WAFU B zonal qualifiers, the Ghanaian side, participating for the second time in this prestigious competition, played out a 0-0 stalemate at the Stade de la Paix de Bouaké on Sunday.
The match saw Hasaacas Ladies on the back foot for much of the first hour, as they struggled to break out of their own half. Omnisports Etincelle dominated possession and applied constant pressure, forcing Hasaacas into a defensive posture.
Goalkeeper Grace Banwaa was the standout performer for the Ghanaian team, making two crucial saves in both halves to keep the Burkinabe side at bay and ensure the game remained level.
Hasaacas showed more intent after the introduction of midfielder Fidous Yakubu, but their offensive efforts fell short of breaking the deadlock.
