A truck driver’s mate, believed to be in his thirties, has been allegedly killed at Dobile in Wa. The young man was reportedly found dead with his throat slit and lying in a pool of blood.
Emerging details indicate that the truck had returned from a journey on Sunday evening. The driver of the truck is said to have gone to sleep in a guest house, leaving the mate to sleep under the truck. Unfortunately, the mate was found dead with his throat slit.
Reporting on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Rex Antieku stated that residents had held a demonstration on Saturday to protest what they described as ritual killings in the area. They have now raised concerns over this fresh incident and are promising to organize another protest.
The truck is said to have loaded salt and was in the area to deliver it to the owner. The driver is currently assisting the police in investigating the matter. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Wa Regional Hospital Mortuary.
Meanwhile, the residents have threatened to embark on a strike action if their concerns are not addressed.
