Following the introduction of the e-levy with a higher tax rate, Ghanaians have resurrected an old tweet from His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2016 inviting people to vote for him if they could no longer pay the high tax rate.
After implementing an e-levy with a higher tax rate yesterday, as Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta was reading the 2022 budget, Akufo-Addo and the NPP government are today facing the wrath of Ghanaians.
Following their outrage, some Ghanaians have resurrected an old tweet from Akufo-Addo, reminding him of a promise he made to them in 2016, when he was anxious to become President of Ghana.
In a tweet on his verified Twitter account, Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians to vote for him because he has the ability to transform and improve the country.
After the implementation of the e-levy, however, it has turned out to be the other way round.
