Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council announces closure of Tsito-Anyirawase section of Accra-Ho Highway

Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council announces closure of Tsito-Anyirawase section of Accra-Ho Highway
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Chief Director / RCD for Hon. Regional Minister, Volta Region Augustus K. Awity has issued a statement dated 18th,  September 2023 directing the closure of the Tsito-Anyirawase section of Accra-Ho Highway.

Below is the full statement :

The general public particularly, motorists plying between Tsito and Anyirawase (a section of the Accra- Ho Highway) are being informed of the closure of the section of the Highway following some structural defects on a culvert between Tsito and Anyirawase townships as a result of a heavy rainfall.

The state of the culvert poses a danger to motorists and has become necessary to close the section of the road to safeguard lives and properties.

Given the inaccessibility of the Tsito-Anyirawase section of the Accra-Ho Highway, the Ghana Highway Authority has arranged an alternative route as follows:

From Asikuma Junction to Ho

At Dededo, take a right turn;

  • 10km Gravel Road (Feeder Road)
  • Horizontal clearance (3.50m due to narrow steel bridge)

Then meet Juapong-Abutia-Sokode Road;

  • 12.5km Gravel Road (Highway)
  • 13.1km Bituminous Road (Highway)

Then meet the Sokode Roundabout

Personnel of the Ghana Police Service will be available to assist with directions.

VITAL INFO

We entreat motorists to take note of the development and use the alternative route provided. We assure the General Public that works on the damaged culvert will be completed in one calendar month.
