Violence Erupts In Kukurantumi As Suspect’s Death Sparks Clash, Injuring Two Officers
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Two police officers have been treated and discharged from the Community Hospital in Kukurantumi following violent clashes between police and angry youth after the death of a suspect, identified as Bright, while in custody.

Reinforcement teams from the Eastern Regional Police Counter Terrorism Unit, deployed to support colleagues from the Akyem Tafo Division, were met with hostility as residents pelted them with stones.

During the chaos, the windshields of a Toyota Tundra (registration number GP 4004) and the official Toyota Hilux of the Eastern Regional Police Operations Commander were smashed.

The two injured officers sustained eye injuries from the attack, received medical care at the Community Hospital, and were later discharged.
