Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has safely returned to Ghana after her medical treatment in the United Kingdom.

She arrived at the Kotoka International Airport(KIA) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was received by President John Mahama, First Lady, Lordina Mahama, Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Gender Minister, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey and other senior government officials as well as aides from her office.

Following her full recovery and arrival, she is expected to resume work in the coming days.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was reported to have suffered a sudden illness on Friday, March 28, 2025, and sought medical attention at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) the following day.

Following medical advice, she began a three-week medical leave on April 7, 2025, and travelled abroad for further treatment as a precautionary measure to ensure a full recovery.

Speaking during a Thank You Tour in Dodowa on May 16, President Mahama expressed relief and gratitude for the Vice President’s recovery.
