An unnamed commercial driver who defied his colleagues’ advice not to transport some passengers from their unnamed station in Accra to Wasa Western region almost lost his life when the vehicle he was driving was involved in an accident.
Narrating the accident to Plan-B FM, a source noted that the driver arrived at their station in Accra feeling unwell but insisted on transporting passengers to the Western region.
His colleagues who realized he was unwell kicked against the idea of their colleague embarking on the trip. They suggested that he sought medical attention from a medical facility around their station. He is reported to have defied their advice and instead that he could embark on the trip and added that he will visit a medical facility on his return.
Moments later his vehicle was loaded with passengers who were heading towards the Western region after which he drove off. He reportedly lost control of his vehicle along the trip with the vehicle subsequently falling off into a ditch.
Residents of the area where the accident happened rushed to the scene and rescued the driver and his passengers and sent them to a medical facility where they are currently receiving medical treatment for various injuries they sustained.
His colleagues who heard about the accident said it did not surprise them as they had earlier warned him not embark on the journey but he just did not listen to them.
