Universities across the country will resume normal school activities in January 2021.

This was indicated by H.E. President Nana Akufo-Addo during his 18th national address on measures taken against the spread of coronavirus on Sunday,
October 18, 2020.

In effect, the academic year for both new and continuing students will begin January 2021.

He then continued that, students in some tertiary institutions and colleges were also back in school, with the sole aim of completing the academic year which was disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

“SHS 2 and JHS 2 students are back in school, as are some students in tertiary institutions and colleges. Indeed, the academic year for new and continuing University students will commence from January 2021.”

Schools across the country have been closed down since March 15, 2020, as part the government’s measures to attenuate the spread of the novel coronavirus.
