Grief has engulfed a family in Abokobi, near Somanya, following the drowning of two young boys in a manhole within their home.
The victims, identified as eight-year-old Jason Teye Mensah, a Class Two pupil, and nine-year-old Nathaniel Ayernor Kofi, a Class Three pupil, reportedly returned from school but went missing and could not be found.
Their bodies were later discovered in the manhole around 6 p.m. on Thursday.
The children are sons of Manye Dede Addo-Teye I, the Developmental Queen Mother of the Plau Division in the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area.

Officers from the Ghana National Fire Service in Somanya were called to the scene. Fire personnel pumped water from the manhole to facilitate the recovery of the bodies.
The remains have been transferred to the Yilo Krobo District Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
Somanya District Police Commander, Superintendent Kingsley Abrokwa, who visited the scene, confirmed the incident to Adom News and stated that investigations are underway.
