Two Police Officers Killed And Burnt By Armed Robbers In Upper East

Police Arrests 5 Persons For Robbery At Ejura Sekyedumase

The Ghana Police Service has been thrown into a state of mourning after gun wilding armed robbers shot dead two police officers of the Bolgatanaga East police department and burnt them with their motor.

An eye witness said; In a war like scene that is mostly witnessed in movies, the two armed robbers on a motorbike entered a popular shop in the Zuarungu market at about 7:45pm Wednesday 15th,2021 and held the owner and customers of a popular shop (Baba Store) hostage .

The robbers then robbed the shop owner of his money.

On their way out of the shop after taking the booty , they saw two police officers on a motorbike opposite the shop who had stopped to buy food on their way home and quickly opened fire on one officer who fell off the motor.

The robbers who appeared ready to clear any obstacle on their way, again shot at the other officer and then shot at the petrol tank of the motor causing it to catch fire, burning the two officers to death in the process.

Some staff who came to the scene couldn’t control their tears as they wailed and mentioned the names of their demised colleagues.

The bodies of the two officers have been conveyed to the Bolga Hospital morgue by the police.

The shop owner had locked the place at the time of the arrival of Word News at the scene of the incident. The identities of the police officers were not readily available at the time of filling this story.
