Two young men have been confirmed dead at Nsuapemso a farming community in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region.

The two, 23-year-old Larbi Grant and 21-year-old Bless Damptey, who are known farmers in the community, reportedly drowned on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in river Nsuapem when they went fishing.

Personnel from the Fanteakwa South National Disaster Management Organisation were assisted by some local divers to retrieve the bodies and have since handed them over to the police.

The father of one of the deceased, Opanyin Atta Kuma narrated to the media his account of the incident.

“I asked for the whereabouts of the young men when I returned from the farm, and I was told they had gone fishing. I went to look for them and I realized that a lot of people gathered there only for them to tell me that, my son had drowned.”
