Two persons; both male, has been confirmed dead after a road accident this morning. The two, sitting at the front seat of a 2016 registered Nissan Versa Note, were confirmed dead at the Krachi West District hospital at Four this morning.
Confirming the cause of death, Dr Linda Mlavi Pongye, the emergency doctor at the time of the accident, stated that, the two men had received infections from internal bleeding wounds in addition to their head injuries. The first man had a health crisis and if not for that, he would have gone through it successfully. He was diagnosed with high sugar levels during his preparation to the theatres and that accounted for his death.
The second man was without any serious complications but he had suffered serious degrees of head injuries and that lead to his death. Both men arrived in serious conditions but could not push through after they were admitted to the hospital, Dr Linda Mlavi Pongye explained.
The two deceased men were alleged to have been eating while driving on top speed and that lead to the accident. We found traces of food on them and some were still in the mouth at the time of the rescue, Officer Emmanuel Agyei of Abujuro Police stated.
The surviving victim, Tagi Frank, driving the Isuzu cargo truck, had blamed the driver of the Nissan Versa note for crossing him on the road. I was leaving Abujuro and they were entering Abujuro and instead of slowing down on the Abujuro river curve, they rather didn’t and moved into my lane.
They were on high speed navigating the curve and that brought them into my lane, Tagi Frank said to the Abujuro Police at the Krachi West district hospital. The police haven’t confirmmed yet what may have caused the accident but strongly believe both cars were speeding and that lead to the accident.
Even if one car (the Nissan Versa Note) was at speed, the other car (Isuzu truck) if it was at minimum speed, would have slowed the accident. Unfortunately for us, the other victims, occupants of the Nissan Versa Note are all dead so we can’t get their side of the story, Police officer Emmanuel Agyei stated after the accident.
Investigations are still ongoing and the police hope to find the cause of the accident despite the death of the Nissan Versa Note occupants.
