Two Chiefs Remanded In Police Custody Over Involvement In Assassination Attempt

Two Traditional leaders have been remanded by the Ofaakor District Court over an assassination plot to kill the Chief of Gomoa Fetteh Nana Abor Attah in the Central Region of Ghana.

The two, Nana Essel Amanquandoh III, who is the Odikro of Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba and Nana Yaw Kudu Manu the Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh Kakraba, have been remanded into Police custody to re-apper again on January 19, 2022.

Background

 The anti-robbery unit of the Ghana Police Service on Sunday 19th December, 2021 killed at least five persons planning to assassinate the paramount chief of Gomoa Fetteh Nana Abor Atta.

The police are yet to provide details about the operation which was carried out upon a tip-off. Two of the gun men, according to eyewitnesses, escaped.
