Tribalism And Politics: The Unstoppable Force Collapsing Ghana’s Local Businesses – NDC’s Selorm

Tribalism And Politics: The Unstoppable Force Collapsing Ghana’s Local Businesses – NDC’s Selorm
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Selorm Avedetsi, NDC Communicator for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency, has lambasted politicians for the demise of numerous indigenous companies, citing political ideologies and tribal sentiments as the primary causes.

During an interview on Plan B FM’s Nkɔsoɔnsɛm programme with host Obidehyeɛ Kofi Sekyi, Selorm attributed the collapse of many indigenous companies established by Ghana’s first president, Ɔsagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, to blatant political and tribal bias.

“The youth require employment opportunities, yet politicians are solely focused on dismantling these businesses, which could potentially jeopardise the nation’s future if not properly managed,” he warned.

His remarks follow a call by President John Mahama for job creation across the African continent.

In a similar vein, King Etse, NDC Communicator for the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency, stressed the importance of Ghana prioritising its youth and reducing its reliance on Western aid.

“The Western world has perpetuated our dependence, and it is high time Ghana took ownership of its youth and their welfare,” he asserted.
