“Transport Fare Hike Claims ‘Untrue’ – Paa Willie

Driver Unions Suspend Intended Strike

The Chairman of the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana, William Osei, known as Paa Willie, has rubbished reports of a proposed 30% increase in transport fares, describing them as untrue.

In an interview with Odiamono Kwaku Gyimah on Plan B FM’s Nkɔsoɔnsɛm programme, Paa Willie challenged proponents of the alleged fare hike to provide evidence.

He confirmed the introduction of the GH₵1 Energy Sector Levy but assured passengers that transport fares remain unchanged.

Paa Willie urged commuters to report any drivers attempting to charge excessive fares, adding that any future fare adjustments would be discussed in due course.
