Tragedy in Aboso Achiase: 24-year-old man kills neighbour with scissors during dispute over route used by a tricycle

Family Fumes As Dubai Firm Buries Nigerian Man Killed In Factory Accident Without Their Knowledge

The quiet, close-knit community of Aboso Achiase, in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality, has been plunged into mourning following a brutal killing that has left neighbors shaken and a family shattered.

The victim has been identified as Augustine Boah, affectionately known in the area as Kwamena Badu. The 24-year-old suspect, Kwesi Yena who goes by the street name “Pogba” is currently in police custody after allegedly using a pair of scissors to take Augustine’s life during a heated confrontation.

What makes this tragedy cut so deep for residents is the chillingly trivial nature of the trigger. According to eyewitness accounts, the bad blood started over something as simple as a tricycle route. Days before the deadly attack, the suspect had reportedly warned Augustine’s son to stop riding his tricycle behind their residence.

It was a minor neighborhood grievance the kind that usually fizzles out with a few harsh words.

But Thursday August 19, 2026 night, that simmering tension boiled over. What began as another verbal confrontation allegedly escalated into violence when Yena, allegedly fueled by frustration over the land dispute underpinning the argument, attacked the father with scissors. For Augustine, it was a protective instinct to address a conflict involving his child. Tragically, he never made it home.

The deceased

The incident has laid bare the deep-rooted land tensions that have been quietly festering beneath the surface of this community. A piece of earth meant to be a foundation for life and legacy has instead become the catalyst for bloodshed.

For Augustine’s family, the loss is unfathomable. He was not just a statistic; he was a father, a neighbor, and a familiar face in a town where everyone knows everyone. Now, his loved ones are left grappling with the agony of a life cut brutally short over a quarrel that, in hindsight, seems devastatingly avoidable.

As news of the stabbing spread, a heavy silence fell over Aboso Achiase. Residents are now living with a palpable sense of fear and disbelief, struggling to reconcile the peaceful place they call home with the shocking violence that unfolded on their streets.

Many are calling for calm and swift justice, hoping the police investigation will provide answers and restore a sense of safety to the traumatized neighborhood.

The police have since launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal altercation. But as authorities piece together the final moments of Augustine Boah’s life, the community is left with a sobering reminder of how quickly a dispute over land and a simple bicycle path can turn a neighbor into a killer and a family’s world upside down.
