According to police investigations, Josephine Panyin Mensah, the pregnant woman who was allegedly kidnapped in Takoradi around two weeks ago, may have planned her disappearance with others.

Three people have been arrested for further interrogation on conspiracy charges, according to a statement from the Ghana Police service.

According to the statement, the alleged victim, who is now a suspect, cited the European Hospital in Takoradi as the location of her antenatal checks and assessments during her interrogation.

It further added that “medical records at the facility reveal that the lady entered the hospital without pregnancy somewhere in October last year.”

On Tuesday, it was reported that Josephine had been found in Axim, but without her baby bulge, which she said had been seized by her kidnappers, according to eyewitnesses.

She was taken to the Axim Government Hospital, but in an odd turn of events, the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, denied the woman’s claim of pregnancy and kidnapping.

However, the woman’s husband and some residents said she was pregnant, leaving many people with mixed sentiments about the issue.
