Three people; one man and two women has been confirmed dead at Santion, a settlement within the Bawjiase township of the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region. The three has all been taken to the Kasoa Polyclinic Hospital mortuary for further body screening while the accident vehicles have been towed to the Bawjiase Police station.
Cynthia Katiwe, a farmer who explained the cause of the accident to the Bawjiase police, blamed a Mercedes Benz driver for causing the death of the three. The Benz driver, a survivor with multiple injuries, was confirmed to have been drunk at the time of the accident.
We were coming from the farm when the white Toyota Corolla suddenly drove onto the pedestal pavement killing my sisters on the spot. The driver had veered off the road when the Mercedes Benz gave a tap on its boots, Cynthia said to the police this afternoon.
The Benz driver on top speed, crashed the back of the Corolla forcing it to crash the two sisters of Cynthia who were all waking home from the farm to death. The driver of the Toyota corolla died on the spot of the accident when he crashed his chest on the steering wheels of the car.
The Mercedes driver wearing funeral clothes was believed to have been drunk at the time of the accident when various sachet of bitters was found in his car. Lots of gin sachets were found in the car and he smelled of alcohol during the rescue, Cynthia added in her police report.
Bawjiase Police is still investigating the accident which occurred at Two-thirty this afternoon after three people were confirmed dead on the spot of the accident. The surfing victim, the driver of the Mercedes Benz, is in police protection at the hospital after he was confirmed to have been intoxicated after arrival at the Kasoa Polyclinic Hospital.
