A significant number of importers and businesses are deserting their business operations over the increasing number of taxes charged at the country’s ports coupled with delays and bureaucracy and depreciation of the cedi

Speaking on Plan B FM morning show NKOSUONSEM, Mr. Adu Gyamfi an importer/businessman stated that Nana Akufo Addo and his NPP government have overburdened them with high taxes and it is collapsing their businesses

He emphasized that the govt promised to eliminate all the nuisance taxes introduced by the NDC government when they were vouching for power in 2016 and 2020 but now the recent three new taxes passed by the parliament is more than what they claimed was nuisance taxes in the NDC’s regime.

“I voted for the NPP but now nothing can change my mind to vote for the NPP again because what they are doing is not what they promised”. He fumed
