There’s No Time To Review All Flagship Programmes – local Governance Expert

There’s No Time To Review All Flagship Programmes – local Governance Expert
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has revealed that all 16 flagship programmes of government will soon be reviewed to ensure their objectives are well achieved.
According to him, it is one of the decisions taken during the three-day cabinet retreat at the Peduase Lodge in the Eastern Region to mitigate the economic difficulties in the country.

Currently, the country is experiencing hikes in fuel prices and the growing depreciation of the cedi, adversely affecting the cost of goods and services.

But Mr Oppong Nkrumah says the review of the programmes, among others, will help the government take some expenditure cuts.

Reacting to this on Plan B FM ‘Ebaanosen, local Governance Expert, Amon Kotei stated that the incumbent Government did not work within our means and that is the main cause of the Economic crisis facing Ghanaians today and it will be best if all the Flagship programmes are cancelled.

He said that at the end of every year every country knows the amount they make and they are expected to disburse and work with what they make but the NPP Government worked above what they make every year.

He concluded that Ghana is not in the space to be able to sponsor people’s second circle education.
