The office of the former President Jerry John Rawlings has released a statement informing the general public that there will be no one week celebration for the former President.

According to a statement sighted by PLAN B FM and signed by the Communications officer of the office of the former President, fliers and banners announcing the one week celebration of the former President are false and urged members of the public to disregard such information.

According to the statement, the former first lady, Mrs Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has not been hospitalized as speculated and she is very well.

The office of the former president Rawlings therefore stated that the former first lady has not been admitted to any hospital.

Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings was present when President Akufo Addo and former President Mahama visited the family.

The statement then informed the general public who wish to call on the family of the late former President that they will be received by pre-arranged appointment.

“Ghanaians from all walks of life are urged to visit the Ghana International Conference Center to sign the book of condolence opened in honor of the late President by the State”, the statement read.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings passed on after a short illness at Korle Bu teaching Hospital.
