There Should Be Zero Tolerance For Violence And Harassment – Helen Quansah

There Should Be Zero Tolerance For Violence And Harassment – Helen Quansah
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The ex-chairperson of the Young Urban Women’s Movement, Madam Helen Quansah is calling on the government to review and endorse the Convention 190 of the International Labor Organization on work related violence and harassment.

Speaking on Plan B Fm ‘Ebaanosen’with Boheba Afriyie, Madam Helen Quansah mentioned that, the group, under the ActionAid Ghana NGO, aims at motivating and training employers and employees alike, to be abreast with the conditions of Convention 190 so that they are bounded by this act and will act accordingly.

The organization is non-biased and they seek to protect the rights of both male and female workers. They also wish to sensitize the populace about these abuses and encourage victims to be strong enough to report their abusers. With the majority of workers in the informal sectors, they seek to educate them on their rights and help them overcome the challenges of harassments and work related violence.

This convention will fully hold these offenders accountable for their crimes and help deter others from towing these same lines so that the future of the youth is protected.
