“There Are No Jobs”- COCOBOD CEO’s Rep To Students

“There Are No Jobs”- COCOBOD CEO’s Rep To Students
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A representative of COCOBOD CEO Mr. Joseph Boahen Aidoo caused a massive stir at the launch of the 100 years anniversary of Kwadaso Agric College on Thursday 28th October 2021 in Kumasi.

Without mincing words, Madam Faustina Asumani informed students of the college point blank in her address that ” there are no jobs” in the country to consume students should they graduate from college.

The forgoing triggered hush murmurings from students; an expression  of their  disappointment and a dashed hope of securing jobs after school.

In response to their reaction she said; “When I said there are no jobs, I could here sounds coming but that is the truth. The jobs are not there”, she reiterated.

“The population has grown and the school needs to develop to accommodate the many young men and women who are coming up and want to do Agric. Many are also leaving the college and are looking for jobs but then where are the jobs”, she said at the prologue stage of her address.

“If Ghana is multiplying in our population, it means we need to do things differently. We need to expand the school for teaching and learning so that when students come out they will not be looking for jobs that are non-existent”, she added.

She advised the students to think outside the box on what they should do after school i.e taking the path of entrepreneurship.

“You need to be serious and form partnership with others and see what you can do to increase food production…”
