The family of Mr. Djan Kwafo Inusah has called on authorities to investigate an alleged assault and unlawful detention involving officials of the National Intelligence Bureau over a disputed parcel of land at Danchira in the Ga South Municipality.
According to Mr. Inusah, about ten armed officials from the Bureau reportedly stormed his premises on March 3, 2026, and physically assaulted him. The group was allegedly led by one Ruben Manu, who claims ownership of the same parcel of land that Mr. Inusah also says belongs to him.
Mr. Inusah stated that after the alleged assault, the officials took him to the NIB headquarters at Kawukudi in Accra, where he was detained. He said he was later granted bail following the intervention of his brother and other family members.
The victim further alleged that GH¢50,000 meant for the purchase of blocks from his block factory was taken during the incident. According to him, the money had been paid by a customer who had ordered building blocks from his business.
Mr. Inusah claimed that the officials also threatened him and warned that they would return to cause further harm if he did not relinquish his claim to the land.
The family has since appealed to the Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, and the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to investigate the incident and ensure that any officers found culpable face appropriate sanctions.
They say they are deeply concerned about Mr. Inusah’s safety and are calling for justice and protection as the dispute is addressed through lawful means.
