Tema West MP Joins Fitness Walk to Raise Funds for Orphanages, Highlights Key Development Efforts

Members of the Adults Only Health Group on the November 22nd, 2025, embarked on a charity fitness walk aimed at raising funds to support orphanage homes. The event saw strong participation, including the Member of Parliament for the Tema West Constituency, Lawyer James Enu, who is also a patron and active member of the group.

Speaking to plan b fm reporter during the walk, Lawyer Enu addressed several pressing issues affecting residents of Tema West, particularly unemployment. He revealed that the government, together with his office, is implementing practical strategies to reduce joblessness among the youth in the constituency.

According to him, one of the approaches currently being used involves engaging companies and factories within the Tema industrial enclave to identify available vacancies and secure employment slots for qualified unemployed youth.

“We have a job center where unemployed youth come to register their details, qualifications, and preferred job roles,” he explained. He added that those interested in acquiring vocational skills are also being catered for.

The MP further disclosed that his office is actively assisting young people participating in the ongoing national security services recruitment processes.

Beyond unemployment, Lawyer Enu touched on other developmental challenges in the constituency, including the sewage system, which he described as a major concern. He said he has met with both assembly officials and technical experts and that efforts are underway to find a lasting solution.

On the issue of road infrastructure, the MP confirmed that he has engaged the Ministry of Roads and Highways, resulting in ongoing works to fix several dilapidated roads within the constituency. He also noted that the installation of street lights is being intensified to improve visibility and safety.

Addressing sanitation, Lawyer Enu encouraged residents to continue observing the National Sanitation Day, held on the first Saturday of every month. He urged the community to participate actively in clean-up exercises to ensure a healthier and cleaner living environment.

The fitness walk concluded with renewed calls for collective responsibility and continuous community involvement to drive development in Tema West.
