Tema Greenbelt Under Threat: Residents Petition TDC

Residents of Tema Community 10 & 11 have petitioned the Tema Development Corporation (TDC), to call for an immediate intervention to protect the Tema Greenbelt Zone from encroachers who are bent on destroying the natural environment.

Speaking on Plan B FM Morning Show “Nkosuo Nsem” Chairman of the Tema Community 10 & 11 Neighborhood Association. Mr. Griffin said there was a recent rush for lands in the Greenbelt Zone and other restricted lands in the Tema Metropolis and the phenomenon gave rise to the depletion of the natural environment.

The Association explained that the green belts, which served as a buffer was designated as part of the major planning tool in the development of Tema to prevent urban sprawl by keeping land permanently open.
