A fire that engulfed the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of the production unit at Flour Mills Ghana Ltd has been successfully extinguished, thanks to the timely intervention of firefighters from the Tema Regional Command.

The fire, which broke out on Wednesday, May 21, was fully doused by 12:30 hours. One worker, who suffered smoke inhalation during the incident, was immediately rushed to the GPHA Clinic for treatment.

Medical officials have confirmed that the victim is now in stable condition and out of danger.

The inferno caused extensive damage to critical infrastructure, including armoured cables, an electric panel, and sections of the production machinery.
However, the swift and coordinated response of the firefighting team helped prevent further destruction. Key installations such as other production equipment, wiring, and the upper floors of the facility were salvaged from the flames.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
