*Commercial Sex Workers:*
Residents in Tema Community 7 are unhappy about the development and activities of prostitutes in the area claiming that most of these commercial sex workers are not Ghanaian indigenes but rather come from Nigeria.
Speaking on Plan B FM morning show NKOSUONSEM, the residents told Nana Yaw Abrompah that, the illicit sex trade is on the ascendancy in Tema Community 7 as both the young and old engage in commercial sex activities for a living.
Residents in the community are unhappy with the situation and have called on the Police and Tema Metropolitan Assembly to intervene,
” it is a single room which has been expanded with plywood to create additional 21 rooms for them, smoking of “wee” is on the rise among the prostitutes and it is worrying us”
According to them, the presence of the sex workers is having a negative impact on the youth in Community 7, as the place is flooded with prostitutes,
“They all sleep during the daytime and wake up at night to engage in their prostitution activities, they show pornographic movies to disturb us, especially our children, we have reported the issue to TMA but authorities have turn deaf ears to our plea.
