The director-general/administration of police cop Christian Tetteh Yahonu on behalf of the Inspector General of police Dr George Akufo Dampare has commissioned an ultra-modern police headquarters at Tema community 2.
Speaking at the event COP Yahonu thank the former member of Parliament (MP) for Tema west Irene Naa Torshie Addo whos currently the administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and the Municipal Chief Executive for Tema west Hon. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo for using the common fund to build such an ultra-modern edifice to enhance the fight against crime in the community, this ultra-modern edifice contains a charge office,4 cells,2 for adults male/female and 2 juvenile cells male/female, CID offices,mttd office DOVVSU Office, community policing unit, Amory and a conference hall, there are also some dedicated offices for senior officers like the District commander, District crime officer and the District MTTD officer respectively.
COP Yahonu, then charged the police to make good use of the facility and “take note that the current technology-driven world makes police indiscipline and unprofessional conduct easily exposed, therefore they must do their best within their means to respect and serve.”
The Municipal Chief Executive for Tema west Hon. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo said there is a lot of development ongoing in the municipality and the police need to be equipped to effectively carry out their duties without any hindrance.
She reiterated that the municipal has prioritised the security of the people in the municipality and similar projects have been commissioned for the police service in various communities to enhance the work of the police.
The community 2 District commander chief superintendent Daniel Ohene -Agyan couldn’t hide his excitement and thanked the IGP Dr Akufo Dampare through COP Yahonu and Irene Naa Torshie Addo the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and the Municipal Chief Executive for Tema west Hon. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo for uplifting the image of the police service in Tema and promise to make good use of the facility for the benefit of all.
