A teenage girl has been stabbed on a train after she ignored a man asking her for the time.
The 19-year-old suffered a knife wound to the arm during the incident on a No. 1 train in Washington Heights, Upper Manhattan, in New York, in the US, in the early hours of Thursday morning.
She was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia in stable condition.
The suspect is said to have fled the train.
It was just one of the stabbings to occur in the Upper Manhattan and Bronx areas overnight, reports the New York Post.
At least three other people are said to have also been knifed, police said.
Around 15 minutes after the train attack, a man, aged 39, was stabbed in the neck during a dispute with another man in Kingsbridge Heights, the Bronx.
He was taken to Barnabas Hospital in a stable condition, but the suspect fled.
Photos at the scene show blood splattered across the floor.
In another incident, a 24-year-old man was knifed from behind in his back and right thigh around midnight as he walked in Hamilton Heights.
