Tanzania President Boycott Independence Day Celebration To Build Infrastructures

Tanzania President Boycott Independence Day Celebration To Build Infrastructures
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The celebration of Independence Day is key to every country. The celebration is done once every year to mark and remember the day that a country attained its freedom and independence from its colonial masters. Over the years, the celebration of Independence Day involves a lot of resources. Both human resources and financial resources.

President for Tanzanian has defied all odds as the 61st Independence celebration which is scheduled to take place on Friday has been canceled. The leaders of the country have seen it necessary to focus on the infrastructure rather than mere celebration.

Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan has canceled Independence Day celebrations scheduled for Friday and directed that the budget instead be used to build dormitories for children with special needs.

The 61st Independence Day event was to cost $445,000, money that will be used to build eight dormitories in primary schools around the country.

This is a good directive from the president of Tanzanian. It is a good lesson for other leaders in various countries to learn how to pay attention to the pressing needs of their country. We must understand that education and wellbeing of is essential than mere Independence Day celebration.
