There was exchange of gun fire on Friday, 29th April 2022 between two feuding factions over who has the right to install a new Chief at a local Community.
The incident happened at Yong Dakpem Yilli, a suburb of Tamale where the feuding factions have been fighting each other for some time now.
The latest clashes on Friday was as a result of a decision by one faction to install a new sub Chief known locally as ( Tindana).
This attempt to install the new Chief did not go down well with the opposing faction who decided to take the law in to their own hands, resulting in the exchange of gun fire.
A number of houses were also burnt and some people suffered injuries during the fight.
The Chieftaincy disagreements has been lingering for about 2 years now, even though, the Police in the past have made some arrests.
Security agencies have been asked to ensure law and order to prevent further attacks by the opposing factions.
