The founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministry, Nicholas Osei popularly known within the media space as Prophet Kumchacha, has advised persons intending to get married to take their time to study and understand their would-be spouses before settling down with them in marriage.
Accord to Prophet Kumchacha most people tie the knot believing that every other aspect of their marital life would fall in places thereby having a happy and beautiful marriage. He pointed that the reality is that in most of these cases it always turns out to be the opposite and he attributes these challenges on the part of both parties’ failure to really study and understand each other before getting married.
In an answer to a question posed by the host of Plan-B FM’s Abrabo Mu Nkomo, Prophetess Obaa Yaa, on things people should know and do before getting into marriage, Prophet Kumchacha noted that the first thing people need to understand is that marriage is an institution usually blessed by God.
“People hoping to tie the knot must first understand that marriage is from God and for anyone to live a happy marital lifestyle, they must firs commit their marriage into the hands of God,” Prophet Kumchacha remarked and added that even though there are many things that could make one’s marriage a successful one, the two most important ones are patience and prayers.
He continued that one of the key things that have ruined a lot of marriages is the lack of proper communication between the couples and called for a change in that if people were looking forward to staying happy with their spouses.
“Take a look around you and you will realize that most couples do not have healthy communication going on between them. People in such marriages are more likely to experience either separation or divorce at the end of the day,” he pointed out.
He was quick to add that despite having couples having a healthy communication going on between them there are equally chances that they will experience some form of conflicts at one point or another and added that there were normal in marriage.
The Founder and Leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministry explained that the ability to handle these conflicts at their initial stages goes a long way to determine the kind of marriages people were likely to have.
Likening a marriage to a journey, he said one was expected to experience potholes, hilly roads, straight roads and bended roads. “All of these are found in marriages and your ability to navigate all of these makes or unmake your marriage. Like I said it is very important to know that somebody you are intending to get married to. Do not make the mistake of getting married to the person first and believe that everything will work out well,” he said.
Concluding, he pointed out that it was not wrong for any of the parties involved to focus on themselves and quickly stated that it should not be done in a selfish way that will see him or her disregard the other partner, but a way of taking care of oneself aimed at helping bring the best yourself out to aid the marriage.
