Former Black Stars midfilder Sulley Ali Muntari has rejected an offer from South African giants Maritzburg
The 2010 Champions League winner has opted for a possible move to rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the South African PSL.
The former AC Millan player Muntari expressed his interest in playing in the South African Premiership a few months ago during a radio interview with South African journalist Robert Marawa.
“Maritzburg United have engaged the player’s representatives to discuss the potential of the player moving to KwaZulu-Natal this coming season.”
“But the player has made up his mind and only wants to play for Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa.”
The 35-year-old is now a free agent following a 6-month stint contract with Spanish segunda side Albacete has also been linked with Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts Of Oak.
Muntari has won the, Coppa Italia, Serie A, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup. He was a key member of the Black Stars team that played at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
