Student in viral machete bullying video handed over to Police – Accra Academy

Management of Accra Academy Senior High School has addressed concerns regarding a viral video showing a student flogging a colleague with a cutlass.

According to a statement issued by the management sighted by Plan B News on Sunday, the incident, which occurred on January 17, 2024, was not reported to school authorities until the video surfaced on social media.

It said the school has identified all students involved and contacted their parents with the student who perpetrated the handed over to the police for further interrogation.

The school’s management further noted that the students involved, all-day students, have been asked to stay away from the school pending further investigation.

The perpetrators are Shadad Aliu a.k.a. Kester (IVA 1), Haleem Jibril a.k.a. Chopper (3Bus 5), Ahmed Dauda a.k.a. Foreigner (3GA 5), and Richard Ninsin a.k.a. Poisonous (3GA 5). The victims are Samuel Ussher (1Sc 10), Kingsford Quayson (1Sc 10), Stephen Oteng (1Sc 10), and Dominic Awuku Adjei (1GA 2).

It said preliminary investigation reveals that the machete used was brought from home, not taken from the school and that the matter was still under investigation by the school’s disciplinary committee, and all stakeholders would be informed of the outcome.

The school’s management assured parents and guardians that they take the matter very seriously and are committed to addressing the situation promptly and effectively.
