Ghana football legend Stephen Appiah has been selected to assist Aime Yarza, Director of FIFA Tournaments in the FIFA U-17 World Cup draw alongside former Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar, a finalist of the 1995 edition in Ecuador.
World football governing body, FIFA, made the announcement in a release on their official website on Tuesday September 12, 2023
The U-17 World Cup draw will take place on Friday, 15 September 2023. The tournament is being hosted by Indonesia which begins on 10th November to 2nd December 2023.
Stephen Appiah featured for Ghana at two FIFA World Cups in Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010. He also won the 1995 FIFA -U17 World Cup in Ecuador with Ghana.
Unfortunately, the Black Starlets will not be at this year’s edition after they were eliminated in the preliminary stages of the qualifiers.
