Stay at polling stations after voting to prevent NPP from rigging in Ashanti region – NDC’s Gbande

Stay at polling stations after voting to prevent NPP from rigging in Ashanti region – NDC’s Gbande
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in charge of Operations, Mr Mustapha Gbande, has called on party supporters in the Ashanti Region to remain vigilant on election day to prevent any attempts by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rig the elections in the region.

During his tour of the Ashanti Region on Monday, Mr Gbande urged supporters to bring their mats and voter ID cards to polling stations on December 7, 2024, and stay in the vicinity until all votes are counted.

He emphasized the importance of monitoring the voting process closely to ensure transparency and fairness.

“We have learned that the NPP’s votes after every election have fictitious implications,” Mr Gbande stated, expressing concern over the integrity of votes from the Ashanti Region.

“The NDC is determined to stop this.”

Mr Gbande claimed that research has shown that the votes the NPP secures in the region are inflated, and the NDC is committed to preventing any irregularities in the upcoming elections.

“We are going to ensure that these funny figures are not recorded in this year’s elections,” he said.

“This can only be achieved if you remain vigilant by staying at the polling station until the last vote is counted.”
