Speeding Urvan bus knocks and kills 47-year-old pedestrian

One Feared Dead, Driver In Critical Condition In Gomoa Dabenyin Accident

A Kumasi-bound Urvan mini bus on Saturday, June 22, 2024 knocked and killed a 47-year-old pedestrian at Council Quarters, a suburb of Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

The bus driven by one  Oscar Oteng, 55 with registration number AS 4047-22 with fourteen  (14) passengers on board was from Wassa-Akropong heading towards Kumasi.

On reaching a section of the road,  he knocked down a male adult pedestrian, identified as Atora Ayintuo who was crossing the road from the nearside to the offside edge.

The victim died on the spot according to police investigators. The Body of the deceased was deposited at Obuasi Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Meanwhile, the suspect driver Oscar Oteng is in Police Custody assisting with investigations.
