Spare Parts Dealer Remanded For Defrauding Medical Practitioner GH¢11,000.00

Ashaiman Circuit court has remanded a 41-year old Spare parts dealer for defrauding one Jesus Agey, 36-year old private medical practitioner Ghc 11,000.

The accused, Benson Antwi, denied the charged of defrauding and reappear to court later.

Narrating the fact of the case. Prosecuting Chief Inspector Samuel Aperwah told the Court presided over by Mr Richard Anko Delali that the complainant Mr Agey lives at Dawhenya near Ashaiman whiles the accused Antwi resided at Abrepo in Kumasi.

Prosecutor said On December 23, 2021, the complainant came to Ashaiman Division, Criminal Investigative Department with a report that in October, he gave cash of Ghc 11,000.00 being payment of a Hyundai Sonata car used engine to accused person.

He said Mr Agey contacted the accused Antwi after seeing advertised online.

Both agreed with the payment of Ghc 11,000.00 for the said engine, Antwi directed the complainant to his shop at Abossy Okai in Accra.

According to the Prosecutor the accused further instructed the complainant to pay the agreed amount in cash. The complainant after the payment, received the said engine through courier service. He tested and it was faulty.

The complainant immediately informed the accused person and return the faulty engine to the shop for replacement but Antwi failed to refund his money or replace the engine.

On Febuary 23, 2022 the accused person was arrested in Accra and bought to Ashaiman police station,
