South Africa National Men’s Football Team head coach Hugo Broos says his team didn’t play well despite winning a pre-AFCON friendly game against Ghana’s Black Galaxies.

South Africa beat the Ghana Team that is made up of only Ghana based players 1-0 with the only goal of the game coming in the 57th minute through Sipho Mbule’s brilliant long range strike.

Bafana Bafana commence their 2025 AFCON journey on Monday, December 22 with a game against Angola at 17:00 GMT.

They also play against Egypt and Zimbabwe at the group stage and are expected to fly out to Morocco on December 17 but after seeing his team play against Ghana, Hugo Broos wasn’t impressed with the performance.

“I’m happy with the result that we won the game, but I think we can play much better than today. We didn’t really play a very good game.

“We didn’t really play a very good game, there was not so much movement in the team what we are used to, the passing was not good. So we still need a little bit work to be on the highest level” he said to SABC Sport.
