Concerns are mounting in Tema West over the perceived inaccessibility of the area’s Member of Parliament, Lawyer James Enu, following complaints that he has become difficult to reach since assuming office.
Christian Tetteh, a Communication Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tema West, expressed worry over what he described as a widening gap between the MP and the constituents who worked tirelessly to secure the seat after 28 years.
According to him, Lawyer James Enu was widely celebrated during the campaign period for his high energy, strong grassroots engagement, and assurances of open-door leadership.
“He was visible, responsive, and deeply connected to the people. That was the James Enu we sold to the voters,” Tetteh recalled.
However, he noted that recent attempts by constituents to reach their MP through phone calls, emails, and letters have often gone unanswered, leaving many residents confused and disappointed.
The growing silence, he said, has triggered quiet conversations within the constituency, with supporters questioning whether their trust has been taken for granted.
Speaking on EBANOSEN on Plan B FM, Christian Tetteh did not hide his frustration.
“We voted for him because we believed he would be our voice in Parliament. Winning Tema West was not easy—it took commitment, sacrifice, and unity. The people deserve to be heard,” he stated.
He called on the MP to reconnect with the grassroots and restore the accessibility that defined his rise to office, stressing that effective representation goes beyond occupying a parliamentary seat—it requires constant engagement with the people.
