The former Member of Parliament for the Binduri constituency, Dr. Kuganab-Lem Robert, has told advised Buaben Asamoah to seek an explanation from the former Presbyterian Moderator, Rev. Emmanuel Martey if he doesn’t understand what the Catholic Bishops Conference have said about protecting the public purse.
Dr. Kuganab-Lem Robert made this statement in an interview monitored by Plan B News this morning, 10th November 2021, when he responded to Yaw Buaben Asamoah‘s comments that the Catholic Bishops Conference could have done better by making more targeted remarks about the NPP with their statement
According to Dr. Kuganab-Lem Robert, he thinks that if Yaw Buaben Asamoah doesn’t understand what the Catholic Bishops Conference has said probably, he should go to the good old bishop, Reverend Emmanuel Martey.
“He would explain to him because he was the only wise person in Ghana who was rallying wise men against the former president John Dramani Mahama.”
Dr. Kuganab-Lem Robert indicated that Reverend Emmanuel Martey is the only wise man who can explain the statement made by the Catholic Bishops Conference to Yaw Buaben Asamoah’s understanding because anybody who says that what the Catholic Bishops Conference said is not clear is either dishonest or falls to the group of people the Bishops Conference were referring to in their statement.
Dr. Kuganab-Lem Robert said that the Bishops do a lot of charity works, so they know how people are not able to feed, they know how many kids are not able to go to school, and they know how many people are not able to pay their hospital bills because the Catholic social teaching teaches us to be our brother’s keeper.
“So, they are aware of the hardships in the country. They know the cost of cement today because they are directly involved in the construction of schools.”
Dr. Kuganab-Lem Robert added that the Catholic Bishops Conference are speaking out against the hardships in Ghana because they are persons with integrity and in the welfare of all Ghanaians, they are persons who welcome the poor and the rich.
